On June 1, 2010 our two year old, "Little Air Bear," was diagnosed with Childhood Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) Type M7. After enduring 146 days at Primary Children's Hospital, Erin is now in remission and living a full life at home with our family. Her strong will and constant happy smile is an inspiration to us all. Through our difficult circumstances we found great strength and peace in our Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you for checking in on us.

Acute Myeloid Leukemia: How did we get here?

Yesterday (it seems like much longer ago) John took Erin to do a blood test. Our Pediatrician, Dr. Ryan Bell, wanted to do the test because we kept finding bruises all over her body. I also noticed that her skin was looking more translucent so I was worried she was anemic again. 2 hours after her blood was drawn John got a call from Dr. Bell. He told John that she showed early signs of leukemia and that he was going to call Primary Children's Hospital and have her admitted. We had all our bags packed and we were gearing up to leave for Bear Lake. We took the swimming suits out and put more clothes in our bag for a long hospital stay.

Within 10 minutes of our chat with Dr. Bell we had family at our home. It was so comforting to have immediate support from our family. John, Erin and I recieved beautiful blessings of health and comfort. We are thankful that our earthly and heavenly family is around to help us bear this burden. We are thankful to Aunt Emarie for teaching a few last minute piano lessons, we are thankful for Grandma & Grandpa Swenson for taking our two oldest kids to their home, we are thankful for all the phone calls, messages, fasting, and prayers.

Would you please pass me some details of doctors that helped your girl? We are running out of time...my email is Violetta.sobczuk@gmail.com
