On June 1, 2010 our two year old, "Little Air Bear," was diagnosed with Childhood Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) Type M7. After enduring 146 days at Primary Children's Hospital, Erin is now in remission and living a full life at home with our family. Her strong will and constant happy smile is an inspiration to us all. Through our difficult circumstances we found great strength and peace in our Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you for checking in on us.

Yippee

Yippee! Things are turning up! Well, the roof still needs to be fixed, but . . .

Erin's ANC is 100!

It's a blessing and a little miracle.  Her ANC has been zero for 11 days.  We put Erin's name on the Temple prayer roll last night and I know that many of you around the world are praying for her.  Thank you for your faith in our Savior.

Her fever has stopped as of last night at 11:30 pm, but she's still on the Tylenol regularly.  She is scheduled for a CT scan at 10:30 am this morning to see if there is anything else that might be causing the fevers besides the Strep bacteria.  They are always concerned that she'll get a fungal infection, this is why they do so many CT scans.

While I talked to my mom on the phone Erin kept begging for milk.  Unfortunately she can't eat or drink anything until after the CT scan.  She is pretty happy and she slept very well last night.  I hope they don't find anything in the CT scan.

John is going down to Primary Children's tonight.  I came down with a little something in my stomach this morning.  It is so strange that I keep being the one to get sick.  I am usually the one in the family who has the strongest immune system.  Oh well.  It is good to be here with Cecily and Caleb.  I keep them going on their instrument practicing, daily jobs, and their emotional well being.  They enjoy going to play at friends' houses, but we all know that sometimes it can get old being carted to and fro.

Thank you so much for your support.  Thank you for your prayers and all the times you think about us.  We feel your strength and we feel the love of our Savior.

  2. So glad to hear she's improving! Don't forget to take care of yourself. Even strong immune systems cave under stress.

  3. I'm so glad Erin is feeling better! Tonight our YM/YW did a Pennies by the Inch drive here. Josh said prayers tonight and after praying for Erin he prayed that "we" (meaning our ward) would get enough money for the hospital for Erin. This is personal for him. :) Hang in there and I hope YOU feel better soon!
