On June 1, 2010 our two year old, "Little Air Bear," was diagnosed with Childhood Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) Type M7. After enduring 146 days at Primary Children's Hospital, Erin is now in remission and living a full life at home with our family. Her strong will and constant happy smile is an inspiration to us all. Through our difficult circumstances we found great strength and peace in our Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you for checking in on us.

Opportunities

I think that so many of us out there are looking for ways to serve and help others whether as an individual, an eagle scout project or with a youth group or club.  Since cancer has altered our life so much, I have become on fire about anything cancer related.  I thought I'd list some of my favorite sites and books about cancer.  Take a peek.

  1. Hi Jill -
I hope you don't mind me adding another project to your list. My friend Vickie, down in Bryan, TX, has continued making lanyards and necklaces after *her* amazing Erin died of neuroblastoma at 11. The proceeds go to neuroblastoma research. http://chooseaverb.blogspot.com/ is the website. In fact, Aunalee is getting Christian Year necklace for her baptism. Anyhow, I've actually had the crazy idea that maybe Hillcrest 1st and St. John's Episcopal could spend an afternoon making necklaces/lanyards as an interfaith project. Vickie provides the beads, we provide the labor.

Anyhow, that's a seed, and another project.
